  CIO Update: Digital Transformation
How the digital transformation is bringing marketing and technology together at last. Customer demands, digitization of the customer engagement journey and market transformation are all creating new challenges for marketers. The ability to leverage technology—CRMs, automation tools, social listening tools, data modeling—all pivot on the partnerships built between marketing and technology. The technology partners understand the requirements for blueprinting, implementing and supporting the projects and tools that marketing needs. Marketing owns the profitability of gaining additional wallet share and “stickiness” of the customer. The common goal: producing quality and cost-effective solutions that provide value to all.

Gregory Jones is a senior strategic marketing professional with over 15 years of experience in marketing, business transformation and program management. His work has spanned many industries including retail, energy, financial services and nonprofit administration. Currently he leads the development of new products and services and strategy for CenterPoint Energy, one of the largest utilities in North America.

At the highest levels of an organization, he provides the level of strategic framing, focus and vision that create and sustain great companies. With the power to influence and successfully anchor the right people around the right ideas, he embraces business and market transformation to increase value for both customers and shareholders. Gregory was recently nominated as one of Houston’s emerging leaders by the Houston Tomorrow foundation. He also founded Pain Is Power Inc. (painispower.org); a nonprofit organization focused on providing access and exposure to challenged youth.

"CIO Update: Road Map to Next Generation Data Centers"
Creating a Flash Storage Strategy

Data Center Transformation: The pace and intensity of doing business in the 21st century, fueled by rapid technological and social change in the always resource-constrained context of practical reality, create a widening gap between the expectations of businesses’ customers and owners, and IT operations’ ability to deliver to those expectations. The combination of flash storage and software-defined storage architecture enables users to efficiently and easily scale their business without compromise.

In this session, Marty Sanders will lead the discussion on how to break the rules of legacy storage with a new class of all flash array solutions for the modern data center, at a cost below that of disk or hybrid storage.

Marty Sanders is the CTO for North America of Kaminario. He has 26 years of experience in the storage and networking industries. He is responsible for working with partners and customers to drive the future of storage requirements to align with the constant changing of the industry. Prior to joining Kaminario in July of 2015 he was most recently with Dell as part of the Compellent acquisition, and was instrumental in leading and growing the company to where it was at the time of acquisition.  Marty is a seasoned technical leader, and a visionary in the storage business. In his prior role as Vice President of Technology and Services, Marty Sanders was responsible for leading storage architects, product management, professional services, training, technical solutions experts and Copilot support services. Sanders joined Dell Compellent in 2002 and has held the positions of Vice President of Technology and Services and Director of Business Development within the company. In his previous roles he formed the Compellent Customer Council (C3), an end-user focus group that today continues to provide input on product design and development.

Flash Storage Strategies for the Next Generation Data Center with Kaminario
It’s a brave new world out there. And enterprises are adding new applications and driving new business models every day. These applications are built around social, mobile, big data analytics, the IoT’s, cloud, and traditional line of business apps. And tend to be hosted on virtual infrastructure. And tend to stress the infrastructure. Which begs the questions, “Infrastructure is half my budget. How do I know if we’re spending it well? How do I know if we’re meeting business needs and are we as efficient as we can be?”

These applications exhibit very different profiles placing different and more demands on your budget by causing poor application performance, costly infrastructure sprawl, and unnecessary complexity. Due to these new application performance requirements and the new cost metrics of flash media, customers are deploying the next evolution in enterprise storage now.

Join Kaminario as we present the value propositions of the three types of AFA architectures and why all AFA’s are not the same. Learn how new and unique adaptive and selective functions combine with unparalleled performance to enable operational excellence and efficiencies. We’ll discuss how utilization of your key asset categories and business process speeds improve to produce huge TCO savings quickly and what you need to know to evaluate the relevance to your situation.
